Saint Valentine (All For Love) – AINA IFEDOTUN

saint valentine all for love

The man now clothed in white and red

You cause joy and hurt in the heart of men

I’m not fit to talk of the stripes that you bore

But I’ve had my share of pain and shocks

They jailed and stoned you all for love

The blood that was spilled we still see today

Claudius on the throne just won’t let you go

He had the crown but he was every bit a man

Your canons and values we still hold dear

The way you were maimed is an irony of love

The memoir we read tells us loving can rough

The story of our feelings will demand us a prize

Just like what you did with the daughter of your Judge

We hope to learn how to treat those we value and love

February the fourteenth will always come and go

But we pray to get stuck with love when it comes

About PenAStory

PenAStory is a group of young individuals with a passion for literature who have decided to come together to write under one platform. We seek to educate, inform as well as entertain our readers. Also, because we are targeting young literature lovers, we would like to touch on other interests of their lives hence the relationship category and because we all need a bit of motivation in our lives, we decided inspiration won't be so bad
