thoughts penastory
Your heart beats within my chest,
and each breath you draw
comes through my nostrils
to fill my lungs.

You rest beneath my skin,
and I can see all the contours of your soul
stretched out like your body beside me
I now know what it is to be an integer

And I dread returning
To the confines of my own body,
to breathing the way I did
Before this lesson in
transcendental mathematics.

Some instinct invites me
to ask you if my vision is a shared one
but common sense checks in to warn
that premature confessions
can ruin budding hope;

So when you turn to me
and ask me what I’m thinking,
I simply shrug, pull you closer
and say, ‘nothing’

About PenAStory

PenAStory is a group of young individuals with a passion for literature who have decided to come together to write under one platform. We seek to educate, inform as well as entertain our readers. Also, because we are targeting young literature lovers, we would like to touch on other interests of their lives hence the relationship category and because we all need a bit of motivation in our lives, we decided inspiration won't be so bad
