Blackout In Lagos

NEPA has come like
An unpaid Landlord
Monitoring our reckless movement
Putting us in blankness and heat

The night watchers gunpowder
Waiting for promiscuous night crawlers
Clasping dangers
Rummaging innocent shelters

Sometimes we heard gunshots
Other times screeches of vehicles
Crickets had theirs, wood for supper
An orchestral of generators-
The nights are never boring

Crying babies, hungry dogs
Where am I safe?
Nepa versus Night
Holy matrimony, Lagos weds

Lagos is dark again
