A Solemn Confirmation of The “Wait” – ELISHA OPESEYITAN

She said she will wait

She found solace in your name

She found comfort in the spirit of the word

Surrounded by the scavenging influences of the world

The name calling, the tantrums

The gossips, “she is waiting for Godot”

She endured the flesh callings

Yearning for subtle and illicit ravishing caresses

She wished to abide by the Word

Then he came, not like a prototype like others

But like a promise, that similar to

The expectant liberating birth of the saviour

You came to take the shame away

Surely the waiting game pays.
