My Love – MUIS BOLAJI OJURONGBE

Run to me
when the night is chilly and bitterly cold
like the millipede, let me enclose you
you shall close your eyes like touch-me-not leaves
you and I will win the battle
never shall we come home beaten
except by the rain of love
We shall fight the battle to the end of the road
Is it a crossroads?
Never mind Adunni
I’m not shy to be lost in your labyrinth.
Three moons, market days
I’m still counting your beads
You are the maid with the behind adored with golden beads
Let no other draw from your well except me
I shall ring your fingers with wreaths
Let morning come and leave us;
the mid-day is our new companion;
let the mid-day depart for a journey;
we shall continue till night descends
Adunni! Our love is timeless
Our love commands all weather
Your radiant love leaves me insomniac
Under my deft hands is your destination
Let my household be surrounded by healthy gifts of your seeds planted by me
