The Merchant From Venice

Once upon a time when the powers that be decided to renew their ignorance,

They called on the merchant from Venice to do business in our land,

He has looted – I mean done business in – parts of Asia, America and Europe, so why not Africa?

As swift as he was called did he come and laid rules to “build our land”,

We woke one morning to the news of a coup – I mean a dualization of power – the merchant was in charge,

Unlike his previous conquests we had everything necessary for business except a “firm grip”,

Among the plebs things grew from bad to worse – I mean to ugly – and we became strangers to the market – I mean the merchant,

Up till now nothing much has changed except we have learned to live with less – I mean with aid – and “survive”,

So, if you are concerned as I am, congratulations you too are officially a statistic, now what?
