I long so badly to live to see a society where introversion isn’t perceived as being synonymous to lack of words to say or dumbness. You see, being an introvert is just the quality of naturally being a reserved person, someone who likes the company of self rather than being in the company of a lot of people. Some extreme introverts might engage in a lot of thinking in place of talking but from my research, I have come to understand that there is this horrible stigma mated out at introverts. People see them as less, dumb, and inexperienced. This stigmatization has resulted in dire consequences for the introvert. They begin to have a low self-esteem and might even move on to suicidal thoughts especially for individuals who crave love and attention from the society.
I long so much for a society with love, where being an introvert is seen as it truly is and not a bad thing in any way. Some people even go to the extent of verbally, physically, and emotionally assaulting the introvert. Introversion is not a crime, it is just how you are and I therefore posit that if introversion is perceived as bad or negative, extroversion is inevitably same.
