In a world where it appears that less people seem to be able to read and write, we at PenAStory strive to encourage the reading and writing culture in the 21st century. It is this mission that has lead us to provide a platform for all those who have a story to share their story with the world.
Patric Rothfuss, the author of The Name of the Wind said: “It’s like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.” It is with an understanding that every man has a story he hasn’t told or is willing to share with others that PenAStory’s platform allows us both established, aspiring, and struggling writers to come write, read and share, their stories.
By stories we do not mean only literary stories because for us, all that has a message behind it is a story in itself. In the words of Rudyard Kipling, “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” PenAStory therefore seeks to not only revive, promote and encourage the art of storytelling but also to make sure that history is preserved through the power of the pen writing.
At PenAStory, we do not believe one story is greater or better than the other but rather what we believe in is that some stories are more powerful than others in that they are able to connect with a larger audience than some others hence we encourage writing in all forms as long as it has a story behind.
To revive, promote and encourage the art of storytelling.
To awaken the spirit of storytelling in all individuals.
